Where we work
Everything we do runs on Google Meet, secure uploads and electronic signatures, so where you live does not change how we work with you. But most of our clients are local, and local knowledge matters: which county you list your business property with, whether your town requires a business license, and which state gets your paycheck.

Questions we get asked
Where is Next Level CPA located?
Our office is at 3212 McPherson St, Waxhaw, NC 28173. We serve the Charlotte metro on both sides of the state line in North and South Carolina, and clients in all 50 states virtually. You can reach us at (704) 981-1191, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm Eastern.
Which North Carolina towns do you serve?
Charlotte, Waxhaw, Matthews, Mint Hill, Pineville, Monroe, Indian Trail, Stallings, Weddington, Marvin, Wesley Chapel and Harrisburg. Most of our clients are local, and local knowledge matters, such as which county you list business property with and whether your town requires a business license. Clients elsewhere are served virtually.
Do you work with clients outside North Carolina?
Yes. Many of our clients live in South Carolina, in Fort Mill, Tega Cay, Indian Land, Rock Hill and Lancaster. Because the process runs on Google Meet, secure uploads and electronic signatures, we work with clients in every other state too. Where you live does not change how we work with you.
Do I need a business license where I live?
It depends on the state. North Carolina has no general city or county business license, though some trades need a state license. South Carolina cities and counties do require business licenses, renewed each year by April 30. If your business works in both states, you may need to register in each one.
Can you help if I live in one Carolina and work in the other?
Yes, it is routine work for us. You generally file a nonresident return in the state where you work and a resident return in your home state, with a credit so you are not taxed twice on the same wages. Our NC and SC dual state taxes page explains how it works.
